A taste adventure in Straupe and Līgatne
Although Līgatne may seem like a small area, it has the ability to attract visitors who are fascinated by unique natural sights and cultural and historical sites. The legacy of the paper mill and the unique landscape – the sandstone rock cellars in the city center – have become the hallmark of Līgatne. Straupe’s culinary heritage is characterized by the Straupe Horse Post, which gathers about half a hundred local farmers and home producers twice a month, who have been able to turn their own into traditional and delicious products, creating a strong tourism brand “Slow Food Straupe” over time. The owners of Straupe and Līgatne will have delicious home-cooked meals on September 10 and 11.
